Ghosts in the library

The Elting Memorial Library in New Paltz, New York reported the presence of a spectral spirit in the library.  A surveillance tape picked up the image of something right before Halloween (natch).  The tape itself has been posted on YouTube and has been viewed over 250,000 times.  There definitely was something weird that appeared on the tape but some have claimed it may have been a spider. This spider seeemed to be see-through, however.

Whether the ghost exists or not is beside the point when compared with what Raymundo Rodriguez-Jackson, a library clerk, said: “We’re logical people- we’re library people”  Mr. Rodriguez-Jackson does believe, nonetheless, “that entitities and spirits can exist.”

What’s in your library?

  1. Umberhine Library in Richmond is on Main St. in the old home of the Umberhine family, donated to the library association many years ago. It could be that one of the Umberhine’s did not want to leave this old house. Occasionally there are odd noises, but most amazingly a book will just fall from a shelf, when no one is in the area. It doesn’t just fall, it appears to be tossed off the shelf with force. Hmmmm…
